How do you find those 'diamonds in the rough'? When we look back at this time in the stock market we will realize it was/is the opportunity of a life time. I have been more of a technical trader, and kind of ignored the fundamentals. Excellent book - gave a great understanding beneath why we do certan kinds of things indifferently or with passion. Great read in general. Actually this is a great book for parents :-) it will change the whole way you see your child. I am thinking if the same kind of motivation is apt for canines too as increasingly reward(read treat) based training is in picture nowadays..wonderful book!

After seeing Mr. Markopolos on the Daily Show, I ran to my Kindle to purchase his book. I see that his publisher is part of the "doesn't understand epublishing" industry, forcing Amazon to charge more than $10 for a new title. Now, instead of getting "less than he would like" for an ebook sale, they will get $0 from me. Is anybody listening to this? I cannot comment on the content of the book, since I will not purchase at the asking price.

Very enjoyable summary of the most famous "quants" and their achievements and failures. Sometimes you're left wanting to know more about their trading strategies, especially Simmons from Rennaissance, the only one who reallly did not blow up. But i doubt there is any book with more insight into their strategies than this one for now.

Great job in explaining the complexities and the crisis nature of the near collapse of the world financial system. Great understanding of Hank Paulson and the near impossible job of working with congress to avert the collapse. Our congressional leaders do not have a clue except for their own personal self serving personal political agendas. One gains a greater respect for the team that Paulson assembled to deal with the crisis.
